We've just come across a fabulous Russian 10 Rubles banknote from the Priamur Region. The note is from 1920 and red and green on the front with sheaves of grain, fruits and a shield in the centre.
The reverse side has a double-headed Eagle at the centre.
We discovered the note buried deep in a huge box of old banknotes we purchased from a bulk seller. We love buying these bulk boxes as we never know what's in them until we open them - making any good find all the more exciting.
We have a fantastic network of numismatic enthusiasts in the UK, Europe and around the world. Many of them go to car boot sales, yard sales, and house clearances as well as looking online for rare and interesting banknotes and coins.
Many of them have been in our network for many many years and, we've become friends with a lot of them. We regularly meet up to discuss the sort of collectable coins and notes we're looking for.
Because we have such a trusted relationship with our network we'll often buy bulk consignments without knowing exactly what's in it. This makes the process enjoyable and exciting and we get some great finds along the way!
It’s an unusual approach and one that’s worked for us - it's taken us many many years to put together a trusted network which puts us in a unique position.
Once we bought the coins and notes we then categorise them and make them available for for sale to you.
We just got a small selection on our new online shop. Currently, we sell a lot via our eBay shop. But, as we grow the online store we'll will be adding more and more items.
As you can imagine, it takes a lot of time to categorise the banknotes and coins - We hope you guys like what we're doing and manage to provide collectible coins and notes that you'll love.
